Quorn foods are made with mycoprotein, an edible fungi like truffles, morels and mushrooms.

Mycoprotein for Quorn foods is grown using a controlled fermentation process so that it can be harvested consistently. All natural vegetable flavorings are added to the mycoprotein to create the desired flavor (like chicken or beef), as well as a small amount of egg white. Then it's formed into shapes like nuggets, tenders and cutlets.

No. All Quorn products are made with GMO-free ingredients.

All Quorn products are made with all-natural and non-GMO ingredients, but are not organic.

No. Because a small amount of egg white and milk ingredients are used in making Quorn products, they are not appropriate for a vegan diet.

Cooking instructions appear on each package and vary per product. In general, Quorn foods can be prepared using a conventional oven, stovetop or microwave. They can be prepared in a similar fashion to their meat and poultry counterparts. Quorn products are very convenient, as they may be cooked directly from freezer – no need for time-consuming thawing. Once cooked, you can keep Quorn products in the refrigerator for about 3 days – about the same time as meat products.

All Quorn branded products use a date of manufacture coding system known internationally as the "Julian Code".

An example of the code date sequence and translation is as follows:

26= plant code
9=last digit of the year (2009)
091=the Julian date (91st day of the year=April 1st)
1415=military time/24 hour clock = 2:15

This product was made April 1, 2009 at 2:15pm. Quorn products have a shelf life of 21 months from date of manufacture.

Currently the Quorn Tenders are the only product, which does not contain added gluten according to the information provided by our ingredients suppliers. However, this product does contain wheat as gluten-free maltodextrin in the flavorings.  Maltodextrin from wheat can be classed as not containing gluten, due to the processing that takes place when producing the product. This processing removes the risk of these products producing an allergenic reaction. For this reason, the product is not labelled as containing gluten.

Quorn Recipe Grounds do not contain added wheat, but barley malt extract does contain a small amount of gluten.

The Quorn Turk'y Roast does not contain added wheat/gluten, however, please be advised that all of our products are made in a facility which processes wheat and gluten products, and we are therefore unable to guarantee that these products are totally wheat and gluten-free.
