Quorn products are good for 21 months in your freezer given that they're frozen and properly handled without thawing. Quorn's newer products should have a best before date on them, however if you're looking for the expiration date of a Quorn product and don't see this, you can use the printed date code to determine whether or not the product has expired.
Printed on the pack, you'll find a date code that should be 10 digits long. For example: 2651031415
26 = is the plant code
5 - the last digit of the year (2015)
103 = the Julian date (the 103rd day of the year = April 13th)
1415 = military time/24 hour clock = 2:15 pm

Most Quorn products can be cooked in under 15 minutes straight from the freezer, so you don’t need to cook Quorn using a slow cooker. Cooking low and slow can change the texture of Quorn products and make them softer than they should be. The ideal way to cook Quorn ingredients is to create a delicious sauce and then add them 10-15 minutes before the end of cooking time. Convenient and tasty!

Quorn Meatless Grounds, Meatless Pieces and Meatless Fillets can be cooked from frozen, so there's no need to defrost. This means you can create the perfect chilli or stir fry in 20 minutes.
- Quorn products don’t shrink when they’re cooked, so bear this in mind when you are adding Quorn Meatless Grounds, Fillets or Pieces to your recipes.
- As with all foods, make sure your Quorn ingredients are piping hot before eating but be careful not to overcook them. Remember, Quorn products don’t change color or texture in the same way other proteins do, so pay careful attention to timings during cooking.
When you use Quorn products in homemade recipes like shepherds pie, spaghetti, curry and chili, they are perfectly safe to re-heat if they’ve been kept cool in the fridge and are eaten within 48 hours. If you can resist them for that long!
If you have any leftover or extra portions from your Quorn recipes, you can easily re-freeze them. They’re great if you’re running late and need a quick meal on the go. As long as all the other ingredients are suitable for freezing and reheating, you can store the dish in the freezer for up to one month. Always make sure the ingredients are cold before freezing. It’s a good idea to take them out of the freezer the night before, defrost them fully in the refrigerator, then cook them within 24 hours, making sure they’re piping hot before serving.

Just make your favorite sauce, and then add the Pieces in the last 12-15 minutes of cooking. Quorn Meatless Pieces absorb a whole lot of flavor, so you'll probably need more liquid than you're used to. Just adding a little more stock or broth will do the trick. Quorn Meatless Pieces work brilliantly in stir fries, pastas, salads, fajitas, wraps and so many other healthy meal ideas. For a mouth-watering and quick lunch, cook the Pieces and toss with a quinoa or pasta salad. Easy!
Quorn Meatless Pieces and Fillets can be marinated. The minimum time we suggest is 30 minutes and the maximum would be overnight. The longer the marinade time, the more the Quorn product will absorb all the delicious flavours. Chili pepper, garlic and smoked paprika are all amazing flavors to include in your marinade, and you can whip one up in no time. If marinating overnight, make sure your Quorn products are kept in the fridge. Yum!
