Quorn Meatless Carrot & Fruity Burger

Enjoy this homemade burger recipe with a fruity twist. Fun to make and a sure-fire winner at any family BBQ.


  • 6oz Quorn Meat Free Grounds
  • 5 medium carrots sliced and cooked until soft then drained
  • 1 tsp yeast extract
  • 1 medium carrot, diced
  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs (2oz) 
  • 6 dried apricots, chopped
  • 3 tbs. dried currants
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 orange, zest only, finely grated
  • 2 tbs. fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbs. fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • A little flour to dust the burgers


1. Mash the carrots while still warm, stir in the yeast extract so that it melts. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
2. Form burgers either with your hands or use a suitable sized cookie cutter. Pack the mixture firmly into the cookie cutter and then carefully remove. This mixture makes approximately 10-12 burgers depending on size.
3. Dust the burgers lightly in flour, shallow fry in preheated oil for 10-12 minutes over a medium heat, turning halfway. Serve in a bun with crispy lettuce leaves.
